Abstract
Our detailed study aims to analyze the effect of background contrast on the excitation of supercavity modes in high index resonators (HIR) for microstrip-HIR systems. This goal is achieved by designing a model in the microwave range; a high contrast background permittivity is defined depending on the system geometry and resonant frequency. We show that the Q-factor increases up to 80% of the material quality factor for optimized contrast and background.
