Abstract
This article reports the effect of particle shape on magnetic properties of toroidal cores composed of electrolytic iron powder. The particle shape with a larger surface area per volume led to higher coercive force by the increase in the domain wall and defects. On the other hand, the particle shape with a larger cross-sectional area of the particles led to the enhancement of the core loss and ac coercive force by the eddy current. Thus, these results demonstrate that the particle shape of powder in a core significantly influences on its magnetic properties.
