Abstract
Determining the technical condition of technological equipment is one of the most important tasks of operating organizations in the electric power industry. At the moment, on the territory of the Russian Federation, the assessment of the condition is carried out during preventive maintenance and repairs and subsequent analysis of the measured values. This approach to determining the condition is associated with significant operational costs, limited speed of information transmission from branches of operating organizations to analytical centers and the presence of errors on the part of personnel when removing data on the condition of equipment. Also, the normative and technical documentation regulating the implementation of preventive measures was developed several decades ago and does not take into account either the change in the nature of the load on the equipment, or the technical condition and residual life of the equipment. For new equipment, the regulations developed at that time do not take into account the fact that new components with different characteristics and properties, are now used in the equipment.
