Abstract
This paper introduces a Markov reliability model for Dokan Hydro Power Station by studying the operational data of this station for period 2001-2005. The most important reliability indices are found namely failure rate ? and repair rate μ through data collection and analysis. The availability and reliability of individual units and for the power plant are evaluated by taking into account different case studies. The energy not generated as generating reliability measure is found. This paper gives a clear view of how hydro plant is modeled by defining states and finding the failure and repair rates for five years for each unit. The mean failure and repair rates are found. Finally the availability and reliability of Dokan Hydro Power Station is evaluated.
