Abstract
The usage of smart devices has been increased drastically in the past few years. One of the main sources of all the smart devices is data. It has become difficult to transmit larger data in smaller bandwidth which is the necessity of the fore coming crisis. Hence to overcome this problem a modulation technique is introduced called the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). It offers a superior spectral quality compared to other techniques. On the contrary the above technique also has its drawbacks of spectral leakage. This can be overcome by using filter bank in the multicarrier communication system named as (FBMC). The paper discusses about OFDM along with filter bank and its performance is analysed with the aid of Bit Error Rate versus Signal to Noise Ratio graphs.
