Abstract
Asymmetric DDoS attacks have become very complicated to deal with because of the use of several IP addresses in these types of attacks. Different strategies are used by attacker to get his objective of forcing unavailability of targeted server. Big size of file is needed with higher transfer rate so that the targeted website could be hanged for legitimate customer. Dynamic honey link is used to avoid identification from sophisticated DDoS attacking tools. A novel mechanism is developed here for detection of asymmetric attack. Parameters used in this mechanism are verified applying correlation coefficient and p-values.
