Abstract
Until the usage of smartphones became popular, On-board diagnostic devices or OBD's were the only tool available for accurately collecting driving data. They use GPS technology to collect information about a vehicle which can be helpful for several businesses relying on such data. Since smartphones provide a lot of additional services, Businesses can depend on it to gather more accurate data. Just as it has irrevocably reshaped social existence, the increase of phone possession is now beginning to revolutionise the use of revel in and alternate how we think about automotive coverage, automobile protection structures, and traffic research. This paper hopes to make an attempt to present a review of the various methods proposed and implemented throughout time which measure driving efficiency has been ensured and recorded for various purposes with the help of smartphone devices. We've also focused on the various previous methods which fixated on the geographical location aspect. To get a better understanding of the effects, this will have a deeper focus on the driving behaviour analysis and methods for India.
