Abstract
This paper proposes a new multi-modulation spacetime coding (STC) scheme by using non-square transmitting and decoding matrices for multiple-input multiple-output synthetic aperture radar (MIMO-SAR) systems. The new scheme fulfills four Alamouti periods into two successive transmitting durations to minimize time-variant channel effects and separates the signals transmitted from the same antenna and the same time duration with bandpass filtering in range-Doppler domain. The main advantages of the proposed STC scheme include cross-channel mutual interference cancelation and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) improvement. Theoretical analysis and simulation results illustrate the feasibility of the proposed scheme.
