Abstract
An important aspect of requirement management is ensuring the traceability of requirements. Traceability among requirements helps to manage dependencies, whereas traceability between requirements and test cases enable measurement of test coverage. The ability to measure test coverage is critical to ensure delivery of products that meet customers' expectations. In addition, traceability allows quick assessment of impact when a change occurs. In a large and complex system, where solution is built using a hierarchy of several interconnected components and sharing of requirements, requirements reuse becomes another important factor. This first part of the paper presents the concept of designing traceability schemes to enable test coverage measurement and requirements reuse. The second half of the paper describes a solution, which integrates both requirement and test management tools to achieve end-to-end traceability.
