Abstract
Addressing the issue of dual-frequency oscillation on the dc side, caused by the absence of electrolytic capacitors, a three-port rectifier with automatic power factor correction and power decoupling capabilities has been proposed for light-emitting diode (LED) lighting applications. This rectifier aims to tackle the problems associated with dual-frequency oscillation and improve the overall performance of LED lighting systems. Compared with existing topologies, the proposed converter highly integrates the main and auxiliary circuits by sharing the main switch, which effectively reduces the redundancy elements of the circuit. The proposed rectifier with only two switches is compact and low cost. The auxiliary circuit works as the third port for processing pulsating power, which makes it possible to replace electrolytic capacitors with ceramic capacitors. The working modes and principles of the rectifier are described. Parameter design and control strategy are analyzed in detail. Finally, the feasibility and superiority of the converter are verified by an experimental prototype with a rated output power of 75 W.
