Abstract
Piezoelectric energy harvester has been widely used in nowadays. For the cantilever-type piezoelectric vibration energy harvester, the dimension and location of the piezoelectric patch on the elastic cantilever are key elements which impact the performance of the output voltage and power. To enhance the ouput voltage and power by optimizing the parameters of piezoelectric patch, a novel method employing the Equilibrium Optimizer (EO) algorithm was proposed in this work. The optimal dimension and location of the piezoelectric energy harvester in first order of vibration modes are analyzed by finite element method and then compared with the one without optimization, and it is found that after optimization, the performance of the piezoelectric energy harvester has a remarkable improvement.
