Abstract
This study presents a merged-two-stage hybrid-switched-capacitor voltage regulator with a Linear Extendable Group Operated Point-of-Load (LEGO-PoL) architecture designed for microprocessors operating at $\boldsymbol{1}\ V$. The regulator incorporates a multi-resonant cascaded series-parallel converter on the input side and switched-capacitor cell is integrated with two buck circuits connected in parallel with multiple modules on the output side, facilitating the efficient distribution of high output currents across parallel current paths. The integrated architecture effectively addresses power delivery challenges associated with high-current microprocessors, providing efficient and robust voltage regulation. This digest discusses the design and operation of the merged-two-stage hybrid-switched-capacitor voltage regulator, emphasizing its modular and scalable features.
