Abstract
Yb-doped crystals are an attractive gain medium for laser platforms designed for quantum and ultrafast applications due to the efficient pumping widely available and ability to reliably modelock using Kerr-lens technique [1], [2]. We recently presented a reliable and robust embodiment of a 1.5-GHz Kerr-lens-modelocked Yb:ceramic laser using a proprietary optical bonding approach [3]. Here, we now report the extension of this to a fully bonded 2.2-GHz turnkey prototype as well as its power scaling using chirped-pulse amplification.
