Abstract
Our research investigates a Dual Hop RF/FSO communication system, which utilizes RF and FSO channels. We employ a Double Generalised Gamma distribution to represent the FSO channel and a Mixture Gamma distribution to simulate the RF channel. Also, we study the special cases of the Mixture Gamma Distribution, which includes Rayleigh and Nakagami-m distributions. The system's performance is examined mathematically and graphically under the effects of various turbulence conditions. First, we measure the system's Outage Capacity under various threshold SNR values. From the simulation results, raising the average electrical SNR reduces outage capacity under all turbulence situations. However, the system's outage performance also deteriorates when fading intensity rises from weak to moderate to high.
