Abstract
The use of Park's equations for calculating transients of synchronous machines is common. In the expanded Park theory all parameters are derived for the phase-domain model of a synchronous machine by applying the Park transformation. Therefore, the parameters can be determined directly of the geometric dimension of the machine. In the paper at hand the self and mutual inductances of two different types of synchronous machines are investigated. It is shown that the assumptions for the present transformation of the phase-domain inductances do not apply for actual synchronous machines, even if the classical hypothesis is considered. Additionally the new stator inductances matrix are presented.
