Abstract
This paper describes the design and development of True Time Delay (TTD) based wide-Band Quad Transmit and Receive Module (W-QTRM) for EW, communication and Radar applications. Present high resolution imaging radars, high data rate communication systems requires high instantaneous bandwidths and EW applications require wide RF bandwidths. Active phased arrays employing T/R modules for such wide band application utilizes Time delay lines for beam steering in place of narrow band phase shifters. This paper describes development of Wideband Quad TR Module (W-QTRM) for EW application over 1 to 5 GHz frequency range by using MMIC based TTD along with GaN power amplifier technology to achieve wide bandwidth and high efficiency. Paper also describes the design of MIC based wideband bandpass filter and power divider for development of Quad T/R module.
