Abstract
A single band $4 \times 4$ Butler matrix (BM) without a crossover and a phase shifter has been proposed, fabricated and tested in this paper. By employing two modifies BLCs and two 90° BLCs, the 4 x 4 BM has been developed. In order to justify the design approach, a single band $4 \times 4$ BM has been designed and implemented on Rogers5870 and then tested. Compared to the BMs existing in the literature, the presented BM has been developed with a lesser number of components. As a result, the presented $4 \times 4$ BM has a simpler and compact design.
