Abstract
The diversity order of space shift keying (SSK) with decode-and-forward (DF) cooperative communication system is investigated in this paper. The system consists of three nodes: a source node S, an intermediate node I and final node F. The error probability expression of the system for N T = 2 transmit antennas is derived in single integral form. The closed-form asymptotic symbol error probability (SEP) expression is derived to assess the system's diversity order. Through the asymptotic SEP expressions it can be shown that the diversity order of the SSK DF cooperative system is found to be the number of receive antennas at the intermediate node (N RI ) in the S-I path and twice the number of receive antennas at the final node (2N RF ) for both the S-F and I-F paths. From the Monte Carlo simulations, the proposed system's single integral and asymptotic error expressions are verified.
