Abstract
The Acoustic emission testing is one of the advanced non-destructive methods of testing for identifying the flaws and discontinuities in various materials. This research work focus on the possibilities of application of acoustic emission testing in different areas for continuous monitoring of structures under test. Moreover, emphasis is given to the signal analysis techniques developed so far for AE signal enhancement. Works of various researchers in different fields are explored and it is found that automated fault diagnosis still needs more attention, which will lead to new developments.
