Abstract
The solar thermal power plant is one of the most promising renewable energy sources that can fulfill the increasing demand of conventional energy all over the world. Since the solar thermal power plants have come out of the experimental stage to commercial applications, A review on solar thermal power technology and some key problems facing this technology and a simple economical overview that are studied by researcher are stated in brief, also with the concentration on an integrated solar combined cycle in Egypt having an overall capacity of 140 MW of electricity, which is generated using solar power and natural gas, at the end after the reviewed data it will make easier for Egyptian developers, researcher and decision makers to see through problems affecting solar thermal technology and how to overcome it.
