Abstract
Bangladesh is participating in the global transition to renewable energy resources. The Bangladeshi transportation industry is paying attention to the alternatives of internal combustion engines (ICEs) while keeping in mind the value of renewable resources and the drawbacks of vehicles on emissions. This study aims to show the economic viability of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) on Bangladeshi roadways. The total cost ownership model has been devised to evaluate its viability. Based on comparable marketplaces, all required characteristics are taken into account. Comparisons with conventional vehicles have been made to understand the findings better. The findings of the study indicate that FCEVs are currently not cost-competitive with conventional automobiles. According to the study, the cost of acquiring these vehicles and the fuel price are the main contributors to this. FCEVs might not be the best alternative to conventional choices at this time for Bangladesh, but future policy reforms could make them efficient and affordable.
