Abstract
A compact dual band unit cell of Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) for single or dual band response is presented. The proposed unit cell is resonating for center frequency of two frequency bands namely Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX). The proposed FSS unit cell is a combination of E and reverse C shape metal strip to produce dual band filtering characteristics; individual shape of proposed FSS unit cell is also analyses. The reverse C shapes and E shape unit cell is resonating at 5.45 GHz and 3.5 GHz respectively. Proposed FSS unit cell is also studied for conventional and M-FSS to optimize the results. FR-4 dielectric of thickness 1.6 mm is used to model the FSS design with dimension of unit cell is 10 χ 10 mm 2 . The recommended FSS has wide range of frequency band with VSWR
