Abstract
Twin-slab model is usually used for theoretical analysis of low-power performances of remanent ferrite phase shifters (PSs). To verify the validity of ferrite slab model in research of high-power performances, double-toroid and quadruple-slab PSs with the same material parameters and structure dimensions are designed and fabricated. The theoretical analysis based on estimate formula and simulation illustrates that the spinwave excitation of perpendicular pumping occurs much more easily than that of parallel pumping in the PS and the high-power performances are mainly determined by the condition of E-plane slab section of ferrite toroids. The high-power experiment results demonstrate this conclusion.
