The power industry has natural monopoly. In the process of electricity market reform in the electricity market, the market will not and cannot be completely deregulated. Electricity market-oriented reform is an inevitable trend in the development of the electric power industry in all countries in the world. Its purpose is to break the vertical monopoly operation mode of the electric power industry, establish a electricity market on the sale side, and realize the mechanism of bidding for grid connection. The market power analysis in the electricity market is divided into pre-analysis and ex-post analysis, among which the pre-market power analysis is more helpful for market regulators to intervene in the market. This paper summarizes the existing market power analysis methods in the electricity market and analyzes their advantages and disadvantages, and explore the lacking in ex-ante market power analysis.
