Abstract
Inspired by the research progress of metasurface, a novel electrically reconfigurable 2-bit transmitting array antenna is proposed, which can realize two-dimensional beam steering in space. A 90° space phase shifter was designed using a double-layer slotted H-shaped patch element and two PIN diodes. Then the 2-bit phase resolution is obtained by spatial cascade of 1-bit reconfigurable transmitarray unit. The simulation consequence of Ku-band 2-bit cell indicate that the cell has low insertion loss and reasonable phase distribution. This aerial has a feature of high gain and spacious beam scanning, and this structure is uncomplicated, so it has a very wide application likelihood in this field of current communication.
