Abstract
Wind parks are electrical generation arrangements with non-linear characteristics. In fact, these complexes are potential sources of harmonic current injection upon the electric power systems, since their operation is fundamentally dependent on power electronic-based devices. Given this reality, for the connection of new installations, access studies must be carried out by the proponent according to the regulatory agency guidelines. In Brazil, these guidelines are given by the National Electric-System Operator according to a set of documents and instructions that support the requested studies. In this context, this paper is aimed at evaluating the influences of the PCC transformer representation and also the levels of background imbalance on the harmonic distortion propagation from a wind park. These influences are evaluated in the context of Brazilian regulatory standards by means of a typical national equivalent grid. In summary, the results suggest that the network representation may influence harmonic propagation.
