Abstract
We present the development of new database, called PADMA, for easy retrieval of genes whose expression is altered by parasitoid infections. The database also houses gene expression data sets from Drosophila blood cells after immune activation. The PADMA system will allow a user to compare genes whose expression is altered after infection by a single or multiple pathogens. Such capability is not publicly available to the Drosophila research community. The PADMA system is currently being tested in-house for public release. We describe the motivation for this research and a detailed account on the design of the database to promote data sharing among users and applications in the context of genome biology.
