Abstract
Diversity receiving is useful to improve the SNR in fading channels. For efficient implementation of this technique, the signals received in different antennas must be uncorrelated. Various techniques have been developed to mitigate the mutual coupling between array antennas. In this paper we propose to use a resonant structure between the antennas. The feasibility of the proposed structure is investigated in an array of two monopoles with a reflector. Simulation and experimental results show that the SRR structure reduce the mutual coupling by more than 15 dB.
