Bremsstrahlung radiation from the ultraintense field ionization of atoms

Abstract
Atomic ionization in a 10/sup 17/ W/cm/sup 2/ to 10/sup 20/ W/cm/sup 2/ laser focus is analyzed using a semi-classical ensemble model. We present the energy and angle resolved photoionization and bremsstrahlung radiation out to 10 MeV at 10/sup 20/ W/cm/sup 2/.
