Abstract
The U.S. and Russian teams have demonstrated the ability to work together; coordinate simultaneous observations using space assets, exchange data, and plan for a new joint space-based effort supporting theater missile defense and global environmental issues. This unique U.S. Department of Defense/Russian Ministry of Defense program is breaking new ground between Russia and the United States. The level of coordination and approval has been extensive in both countries and that alone has moved us forward toward real defense cooperation.
