Abstract
The Multi-Frequency Recirculating Planar Magnetron is a prototype crossed-field, dual-frequency, highpower microwave oscillator. The anode consists of two planar cavity arrays with design frequencies of 1- and 2-GHz. Several experimental configurations have been tested using a −300 kV, 200-300 ns voltage pulse and a 0.1-0.3 T axial magnetic field. Shots examined the impact of magnetic field non-uniformity, power generated at harmonic frequencies, and isolated oscillator operation (wherein one of the two oscillators is replaced with a smooth-bore drift region). Results are presently being analyzed.
