Abstract
Chirality finds applications in various fields such as communication, sensing, and detection. However, existing methods have limitations in generating highly circular polarized radiation. In this study, we have introduced a novel approach to achieve highly circularly polarized radiation. Based on the spin momentum locking property of the spoof surface plasmon polaritons, a set of cylinders is introduced to facilitate the coupling of the strongly confined surface wave into radiation. This radiation carries spin angular momentum, which aligns with the transverse spin angular momentum, resulting in circular polarization. The proposed structure also enables beam scanning functionality, which is experimentally validated through the fabrication of an antenna. Overall, our scheme holds promise for generating highly circularly polarized radiation with applications in a wide range of fields.
