Abstract
This paper presents a new architecture for products powered by the mains and having an external RF connector where isolation is done on the RF transmission line, removing the bulky and expensive isolation transformer commonly used at power supply stage. To achieve it, Y2 safety capacitors are associated to the microstrip transmission line. Transmission losses at 868 MHz are measured at 1.34 dB with 3 capacitors in series to achieve an insulation level of 6 kV.
