Abstract
The corona-generated radio interference (RI) factor is an important consideration in the design and operation of high voltage alternate current (AC) transmission line. This paper conducts a series of experiments by measuring the speed of wireless network communication (WNC) under AC voltage in the lab. The characteristics of the speed extracted from the experiment show that: different from before, with the increase of the voltage, communication speed increases firstly, and declines later. Besides, the speed is also affected by the weather condition and electrode shape. Results from this paper provide a new analysis of the effect of AC corona discharge on the WNC.
