Abstract
Two simultaneously recorded signals are needed to develop and validate algorithms dedicated to the study of EKG/respiration interactions. The authors report on the construction of a database of EKG and respiratory signals, consisting of 20 recordings of some 25 min in length. Three EKG traces (Frank's orthogonal leads) and two respiratory signals (inhaled/exhaled air flow and the subject's volume variations, taken with a constant-pressure plethysmograph) were recorded. The recordings are from young, apparently nonpathological subjects. A technical description of the instruments used is included in the database; it is thus possible to check whether the database can be used for other purposes, and with what limits.ETX
