Abstract
This paper is related to the issue of comparing the performances of hypervisor-based virtualization, with Oracle VM Virtual Box as a representative, and a native host. The measurements are carried out on the same PC and under the equivalent conditions, using the Filebench software. The used operating system is Ubuntu 20.04.01. The goal of this paper is to show an impact of one and more VirtualBox virtual machines on the file system performances. The results have been illustrated in graphical form.
