Abstract
The paper presents a switchable FSS using P-I-N diodes at 3.6 GHz. The FSS is designed to be able to switch from the reflecting state to the transparent state at 3.6 GHz by controlling the diodes used to connect adjacent unit cells. When all diodes are unbiased, the FSS blocks waves at 3.6 GHz. In contrast, when all diodes are biased, the FSS allows waves at 3.6 GHz to pass through. Some influence of diodes on FSS properties is discussed in this paper.
