Abstract
A cylindrical hub is inserted into a pipe inside a scaled camera box—a recently introduced structure intended to host differently-shaped ducts behind an aperture. The resulting metallic structure simplifies a commonly used model of jet-engine inlets and is designed to serve as a precisely-defined, easy-to-reproduce simulation and measurement benchmark. Results show that the fields scattered by the structure, while highly sensitive to small changes, can be both measured and simulated accurately even at frequencies with many interior propagating modes.
