Abstract
Private 5G networks are becoming a key part of enterprise operational optimization and are expected to boost economic growth and digital transition. Network slicing is viewed as a key enabler for realizing private 5G networks, where Aether is positioning itself as a strong candidate for this realization. This paper evaluates the Aether platform and implements a unified interface for slice instantiation and management operations, providing a single point of contact for these operations, as well as the means to automate such operations. A proof-of-concept prototype was developed to assess the solution, including its integration with well known open-source radio solutions and emulators. Results showcased the feasibility of the solution by being able to efficiently reconfigure slice parameters during runtime.
