Abstract
During the course of the study, the researchers were able to monitor the quality of air in the areas of Ermita, Manila via the monitoring station in Mehan Garden in Ermita, Manila using the real-time monitoring of AccuWeather and the DENR-EMB. Based on the findings, there has been a decline in Particulate Matter 2.5 (PM2.5) over the years, the Particulate Matter 10 (PM10) and TSP abides the target levels suggested by the Clean Air Act. The monitored data available for Manila majority falls under Interim Target #4, where the target concentration for PM2.5 is 25 microgram/Nm 3 annual-mean. Nevertheless, it exceeds the World Health Organization's Air Quality Guideline for PM2.5 where 15 microgram/ Nm 3 is the target. Apart from this, the researchers also performed a survey of random people on the area surrounding the research locale, which is Mehan Garden, Ermita, Manila. The researchers were able to conclude from this that the respondents' most common comorbidities were diseases, notably lung conditions like asthma, which makes air pollution related to these types of diseases. At the end of the research, the researchers proposed interventions that can address the concern.
