Abstract
With the increase in the channel bandwidth to satisfy data rate requirements, the saturation of unlicensed bands quickly becomes a source of difficulty. The collisions that result from the ineluctable frequency reuse will then seriously hinder MAC layer performance. In this paper, we propose a new cross-layer aggregation scheme that increases throughput as a result of compromise between robustness to collisions and channel diversity exploitation in a WLAN multichannel context, like 802.11ac. This new scheme is compared with the 802.11n aggregation model, extended to more concatenated channels, so as to compass the improvements perceived by the every day user.
