Abstract
This study proposes a new wireless skin moisture detection system using a capacitive sensor rather than traditional optical methods. Moisture is the most important factor for maintaining healthy skin. The moisture in the skin can be detected by a capacitive sensor. The aim of this study was to design a wireless capacitive senor skin moisture detection system. The capacitive sensor was pressed onto the skin of a rat to measure the moisture, and the data was transmitted with the RF method. The transmitter and receiver were individually controlled by a microprocessor. The results of the preliminary experiment show that using a capacitive sensor to detect skin moisture was possible. In addition, the wireless detection system showed a good performance in an in-vivo experiment.
