Abstract
A novel single field auxiliary difference equation (ADE) finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method with Crank-Nicolson (CN) scheme is proposed for electromagnetic simulation of Lorentz media in this paper. The proposed method introduces an ADE technique that establishes the relationship between the electric displacement vector and electric field intensity in Lorentz media. The CN scheme is applied to Faradays law and the update equations which cannot include magnetic fields are obtained. One numerical example is calculated to show the accuracy and advantages of the proposed approach.
