Abstract
Visible light communication (VLC) has recently attracted growing interest and can be a potential solution to realize indoor positioning. The visible light positioning (VLP) system, with the light emitting diode (LED) and the image-sensor (IS) as the transceiver, has become a research hotspot due to the low cost, high accuracy, fast speed, and so on. However, there are specular reflectors such as mirrors and glasses in the indoor environment, which become the pseudo light sources and affect the positioning accuracy. In this paper, the traditional point light sources are replaced as light source arrays, and we propose a pseudo light source identification algorithm based on chirality to eliminate specular interference. Then, we analyze the error probability of the algorithm and prove that the algorithm is applicable in most cases. Finally, we compare the positioning success rate between the proposed algorithm and the existing algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively eliminate the effect of the pseudo light sources and thus a higher positioning success rate can be achieved.
