Abstract
In the paper, an extended unitary matrix pencil (EUMP) method is proposed for the sparse array synthesis of multiple-patterns in wideband and wide scanning angles. We incorporate the unitary transformation into the hybrid Hankel matrix, which contributes to the real conversion of former complex sampling matrix and computing reduction of singular value decomposition (SVD) and eigenvalue decomposition (EVD) procedures. The new sampling real Hankel matrix builds a relationship between the sparse element locations and multiple excitations of different patterns varying frequency band and scanning angle. Numerical examples verify the effectiveness of the presented method.
