Abstract
This paper presents a flush mount compact vehicle antenna system that supports 4-channel MIMO operation of LTE, 5G sub6, WLAN, and C-V2X communications. Compared to its previous design [1], additional design features were added to cover 5G sub6 band (617-698 MHz). The new design is also recessed into a metallic cavity for supporting flush mount configuration below the roof of the vehicle. Each individual channel produces a directive pattern and the combination of all 4 channels produces a relatively uniform azimuthal pattern in the selection combining MIMO mode. The measurement results of a fabricated prototype are also presented.
