Abstract
Coupling the rapid progress on signal processing and VLSI technology with many world-wide standard activities such as H.261 and MPEGs, visual communications have become more feasible than ever, both technically and economically. This paper provides a brief overview of digital transmission technologies, wireline or wireless, for video communications applications.
