Abstract
Fault tolerant permanent magnet motor (FTPMM) not only has the characteristics of small volume, high power density, and small torque ripple of ordinary permanent magnet motor, but also has the characteristics of thermal isolation, magnetic isolation, physical isolation, electrical isolation and suppression of short circuit current. However, when the FTPMM system works in high-precision occasions, the traditional fault-tolerant control (FTC) strategy can not meet the application requirements. Model predictive control (MPC) is called the current research hotspot of FTPMM control strategy because of its merits of good steady-state performance and fast dynamic response However, most of the current research on MPC strategy of FTPMM is aimed at a certain link. Therefore, this paper proposes and studies the FTC algorithm based on cascade model prediction and the FTPMM system based on four-switch two-phase fault-tolerant topology, and simulates the FTC of the system in the open circuit fault mode of motor windings. The simulation results show that the proposed control strategy can improve the static and dynamic performance of the system.
