Abstract
In this article, a slotted waveguide leaky wave antenna is presented for sub-THz applications. The 1-D series slot array consists of alternating slot reactance pairs that provide broadside radiation and large impedance bandwidth. The given antenna provides a minimum gain of 20 dBi in the 0.12 THz to 0.13 THz frequency range. The maximum efficiency achieved by the leaky wave antenna is 96 %, and its half power beamwidth is 2.4°. The alternating slot pair shows almost zero cross-polarization in the proposed antenna design, which represents the linear polarization purity. The presented full metallic, high gain, and wide bandwidth antenna is a suitable candidate for various D-band applications.
