Abstract
As the popularity of cloud computing increases, it is important to secure the sensitive data and user information stored in the cloud. The main goal of this study is to provide an efficient and secure authentication mechanism for cloud applications that ensures the confidentiality and privacy of user data. The authentication mechanism that we are going to propose will be based on two-factor authentication, a combination of user credentials, and One Time Password (OTP) based authentication. Our proposed mechanism will take into consideration various security attacks, such as password attacks, session hijacking, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attacks, and Malicious Insider, and will implement appropriate aid to mitigate these threats. Our mechanism will be evaluated based on various performance metrics with existing authentication mechanisms. This study will contribute to the development of secure and efficient authentication mechanisms for cloud applications and provide a basis for further research in this area.
